The City of Grande Prairie is looking for individuals to perform the duties as a Building Safety Code Officer and a Plumbing /Gas Safety Code Officer. Both positions are permanent full time positions. The challenge will be to perform site inspections and required plan reviews of construction carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Safety Codes Act, relevant Codes and Bylaws.
Preference will be given to those individuals who hold a Certificate as a Certified Safety Codes Officer. Additional requirements include a valid class 5 Alberta driver’s license.
Other qualifications will include strong interpersonal skills, effective verbal and written skills, broad working knowledge of computers and the ability to work in a team environment. Previous municipal experience will be considered an asset.
