The Transportation Dept. applied a new and environmentally friendly Dust Control Product, called "NATURES FRIEND DUST CONTROL".  This product is a derivative of sugar beet molasses and is non-corrosive. 

It was applied on:
    -    Silverpoint Road south of Highway 43
    -    92 Street north of 132 Ave (SE entrance to McRae Industrial Park)
    -    108 Street north of 128 Ave (Cook's Farm Road)
    -    116 Street between 84 Ave & 77 Ave

Transportation Services is made up of two groups, the Transportation Maintenance staff and the Transportation Engineering staff.

Transportation Maintenance

The Maintenance group is responsible for conducting roadway maintenance work, including:

snow removal and ice control street sweeping gravel road and gravel lane maintenance dust control application pothole repair and asphalt maintenance sidewalk repair (concrete, asphalt, unistone) bridge, guard rails, and roadway fence maintenance railway crossing maintenance

storm sewer cleaning and maintenance drainage ditch maintenance runoff control Bear Creek spillway sign and parking meter repair and maintenance street marking maintenance traffic signal maintenance (City and Alberta Transportation) street lighting maintenance (currently contracted to ATCO Electric)
