  •   Total building construction valued at $92,494,512
  • Issued 861 building permits including 600 residential dwelling units with 450 of these being single family dwellings
  • 59 subdivisions creating 900 lots processed
  • The residential vacancy rate remains under 1%
  • Unemployment in the region was in the 6% range
  • Grande Prairie Airport operated by newly formed Commission
  • Grande Advantage Fund Program continues
  • City supports Grande Prairie Visitor Centre 2000 concept
  • Council endorses Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Plan

  • Annexation process progresses
  • City investigates establishment of Utilities Corporation
  • Dispatch services for Emergency Medical Services expand regionally
  • Learn Not To Burn Program expands regionally
  • Emergency 911 System expands regionally
  • City initiates review of funding for secondary care services in the Mistahia Health Region
