POLICY STATEMENT

The City will recognize the significant contributions made by elected officials, committee members and volunteers that serve the community.


REASON FOR POLICY

To ensure that the contributions of elected officials, committee members and volunteers are acknowledged and appropriately recognized.


RESPONSIBILITIES

The City will recognize Elected Officials for service to the community by presenting each member of Council with a 10K gold ring embossed with the City Crest within the first year of a member's election to Council.

The City may recognize an individual’s contribution to the community through award of a Certificate of Appreciation. The award of any such Certificate will be preceded or accompanied by a formal resolution of Council. Presentations will take place during a regularly scheduled Council meeting on a date convenient for the recipient.

Council will recongize public members appointed to Council Committees by hosting an annual volunteer recognition event.
