POLICY STATEMENT
To establish criteria for considering requests for the use of City Boulevards.

REASON FOR POLICY
To provide City Council and Administration a permanent reference and working guide for issuing permits for the use of city boulevards.

RELATED INFORMATION
1. All requests for use of City Boulevards shall be approved by the Public Works Director under the authority of "The Use of Public Lands Bylaw" C-1078.

2. All applicants shall complete an Application for Boulevard Use permit.

3. Upon approval of the permit, a Parks Department representative shall meet with the Applicant to evaluate the conditions of the site prior to, and after the event to determine any damage, which may have been caused during the event.

4. The City will issue no more than four (4) Boulevard Permits, for commercial events, per year.

5. The number of Boulevard Permits for the promotion of community events will be at the discretion of the Public Works Director.

6. The maximum length of time for any event shall not exceed 72 hours. The permit may be extended by up to 48 hours to allow the applicant to set up and remove items from the boulevard.

7. All business/organizations will have equal opportunity to submit requests for Boulevard use.
