May BEEP: Business Licenses

Thursday, May 01, 2008 4:23:00 PM

Throughout the month of May, officers from Enforcement Services (GPES) will be focusing on enforcement of the Business License Bylaw. Under this bylaw, only businesses that are noted in the bylaw require a license. In particular, GPES’ officers will be checking contractors, transient traders (such as vendors who set-up in areas selling items from their vehicle) and hawkers/peddlers (such as door-to-door sales).

Those who are found to be carrying out business without a license will be fined and required not to conduct business until they get a license. The fine for carrying out business without a license is double the original license fee. The license fees range from $100 - $400, depending on the category of business.

For more information, please contact Enforcement Services at 780-830-5790 or by email @ es_contact@cityofgp.com.
