Funders Forum is a collaborative effort among various levels of government, private, and charitable organizations that play a funding role in Grande Prairie & the area human services sector. 

Belief Statement:

We believe that a network of community-based agencies and organization, supported by the participation of citizens, is an effective means of delivering human, responsive and cost-effective services.

Goal:

Provide a forum of regional funding agencies for strategic purposes such as networking, collaborative planning, resource management and facilitating access to funding.

 

Objectives: 

  • Be watchful of the reconfiguration of agencies and organizations and through reporting and discussion anticipate the impact on services and the community.
  •  Act as a source of reference regarding funding and funders.
  •  Identify duplication, gaps and inconsistencies; assess resources and strengths; and streamline funding processes.
  •  Review the content and usefulness of the Common Application Form.
  •  Evaluate the various methods of Performance Measurement in use by funders to seek common approaches.
  • Educate toward and encourage the development of collaborations, and new directions.
  • Present and discuss socio-demographic data that may impact funding decisions.

Statement of Confidentiality:

As Funders responsible for disbursement of public funds, Funders’ Forum members have a responsibility to share budget and funding information.  Members may, however, be privy to privileged information about agency/organization operations (i.e. management, personnel, etc.)  and will treat such information with professional ethics. 

 

Members will also bring to Funders’ Forum information which will be in the best interests of the community to share.
