Through professionalism, dedication, integrity and training, the Grande Prairie Fire Department works to safeguard lives and property to enhance the quality of life of the people of the region. This is accomplished by providing a wide range of emergency services, strong fire safety education and public relations.

We seek to protect and preserve the health and safety of our employees and to return our personnel safely to their families.



 

What's New 


New Recruits to start September 20, 2010

The Grande Prairie Fire Department is pleased to announce that 8 new firefighters will begin recruit class on September 20, 2010.  They will be joining their assigned crews after 5 weeks in the class room.

Splashing into Summer!
The Grande Prairie Fire Department has been busy renewing Swift Water Rescue Technician Certifications this summer.


Please take full precautions, the Wapiti River is very high this year!

FIREFIT 2010
Congratulations to Todd Russell who beat his past GPFD record of 1:24 with an astounding time of 1:23 in Medicine Hat(2nd Place) and then again in Edmonton(2nd Place) the weekend after.  Todd will be competing at Nationals in Brampton, Ontario in September.
