City Profile

The City of Grande Prairie is located 450 kilometers north-west of Edmonton, the capital city of Alberta (Western Canada). We have a diversified economy involving forestry, oil & gas, and agriculture. Grande Prairie has become a retail hub for Northern Alberta, also drawing many visitors from British Columbia. Our population is over  40,000 within 10 kilometers of the city center, and over 60,000 within our response area.
