Grande Prairie is rapidly expanding and to serve the needs of the city and surrounding area the fire department must also grow. After much deliberation and consultation, sites were chosen and buildings were designed. Two new fire stations are now in operation. A south (main) hall and a north hall have replaced the centrally located station. This enables us to reduce our response times throughout the city. Major occupancies and life hazards were considered in the location selection. The city's infrastructure and road network was also another big factor in where the new stations are located.
