OUR CHAPLAIN

Rick and Wendy, Eric and Miriah
My name is Richard Saban and as Chaplain for the Fire Hall I endeavor to look after the emotional, physical, and spiritual welfare of the fire department staff and survivors / victims of a critical incident. A critical incident can be defined as that event that produces a traumatic change in a persons daily routine. It need not be a loss through death or a complete loss of belongings and it need not be a personal loss. One can actually experience loss through simply witnessing a critical incident.
I have taken training in:
Critical Incident Stress Debriefing and Defusing
Grieve Loss
Suicide Prevention
Marriage Enrichment
I have been counseling for 11 years and became Chaplain for the Fire Hall in 1997. I work in conjunction with Victim's Assistance and Red Cross and am available to assist with the RCMP and Paramedics as well.
