Inspections

Firefighters complete routine annual fire inspections of all commercial buildings within the city of Grande Prairie.  These inspections ensure that the building and building life safety systems conform to the Alberta Fire Code (1997) and the Alberta Building Code (1997).  Firefighters do the inspections under the authority of the Alberta Safety Code and are all certified as Safety Code Officers (Fire Discipline).  This inspection process is part of the Fire Department's Quality Management Plan.
