Notice for Bee Keepers - Mosquito Abatement Program 2006

The City of Grande Prairie would like to inform Bee Keepers who have hives located within 2 miles (3.2 km) of the City of Grande Prairie’s Mosquito Control Zone
(see diagram below):


  1. That the City will be conducting mosquito control operation to temporary/seasonal stagnant pools and ditches from April through to August 2006.
  2. No activities will be conducted outside of our Mosquito Control Zone located within a square running between these four legal land descriptions:

 

The pesticides to be used will be Aquabac 200G (non-toxic to bees) and Dursban

2 ½ G (toxic to all insects). These pesticides are registered federally for this use.
