Sealed Tenders addressed to the City of Grande Prairie Purchasing Department and clearly marked 84 Avenue Arterial Road Widening and Tender T-28-539-09, will be received at the office of the Purchasing Administrator, up to 2:00 p.m. local time, May 29, 2009.
Major work items consist of the following approximate quantities:
1. Cold Milling Existing Roadways – 7,300 m2
2. Catch basin & Manhole repairs – Structure Replacements
3. Waste Excavation – 17,000 m3.
4. Overlay Paving – 44,000 m2.
5. Asphalt – Reconstruction Areas – 21,300 m2
6. Asphalt – Multi-Use Trail – 4,500 m2
7. Concrete – Para-ramp Removals and Reconstruction – 35 units.
8. Concrete – Curb and Gutter Removals and Reconstruction – 3,700 L.M
9. Concrete – Pin on Curb – 2,750 L.M.
10. Paint Pavement Markings – 10,000 L.M.
11. Topsoil – Supply and Install – 1,500 m2.
12. Grass Seed – Supply and Install – 1,500 m2.
Contract documents can be obtained from the City of Grande Prairie Purchasing Department (10205 Street, Grande Prairie), upon payment of $100.00 deposit (refundable), in cash or certified cheque made payable to the City of Grande Prairie, and are available on May 12, 2009, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.; Monday through Friday, excluding statutory holidays. Deposit will be refunded upon return of documents unmarked and in good condition, within 14 days of tender closing.
Each tender must be accompanied by a certified cheque payable to the City of Grande Prairie for ten per cent (10%) of the tender price, or Bid Bond in the same amount. Also, to ensure consideration of the tender, each tender must be accompanied by a Consent of Surety as required by the Contract Documents.
Each tender package is accompanied by a set of 11”x17” tender drawings. Full size plans and drawings for this Tender are available for viewing at the City of Grande Prairie Transportation Services Department.
The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.

At its June 15, 2009 meeting, Council awarded Tender T-28-539-09 for the 84 Avenue Arterial Road Widening west of 108 Street, to Wapiti Gravel Suppliers as the lowest tender meeting specifications.
