RCMP Programs in the Community

The Grande Prairie RCMP offer a number of programs designed to facilitate proactive crime prevention, maintain open communication between the public and the RCMP, and create a sense of safety and well-being in all Grande Prairie communities. Listed below are a number of these programs.

Camp Little Buffalo
Camp Little Buffalo is an annual five-day summer leadership camp for youth.  It involves a number of programs and activities designed to improve team-building, problem-solving, and personal development, among other things.

D.A.R.E. - Drug Awareness and Resistance Education
D.A.R.E. is a 10-week program offered to grade 6 six students, designed to teach them dangers related to drug use.  Visit this page for information on the program's 10 lessons and how you can help support the program.

Neighbourhood Watch
Though Grande Prairie does not currently have a Neighbourhood Watch Program, Community Action on Crime Prevention provides a number of similar programs.

Community Presentations
RCMP members are available to offer presentations on a number of topics; this page provides information on how to request such a presentation.

Bike Patrol
The Grande Prairie Bike Patrol provides another opportunity for community engagement during the summer months.

BACK OFF Bike and Ski Check
This Crime Prevention program provides a way for sport equipment owners to mark their equipment in such a way that it can be easily identified as theirs by the RCMP, without damage or performance reduction.

Cop Cards
Grande Prairie does not currently have a Cop Cards program.  If such a program is implemented, it will be listed here.

Enhanced Policing
The RCMP provide policing to the County of Grande Prairie - this link will take you to the County's policing page.
