"We Are Committed To Providing Credible Customer Service To Our Customers By Demonstrating Professional Conduct In All That We Do"

The Assessment and Taxation Department is responsible for assessments of property, collecting property tax on behalf of the City, and collecting provincial education tax from Grande Prairie property owners on behalf of the provincial government.

Property values are reviewed annually to reflect current values. City assessors evaluate properties based on a number of variables including lot and home size, finished basement, construction quality and location. After completing analysis of property records, verification of sales data, surveys and site visits, fair values for all Grande Prairie properties are prepared with the aid of a computerized appraisal system developed in accordance with international standards.
