Parenting and Building Families

One of the root causes of crime identified by Community Action on Crime Prevention is the breakdown of the family unit.  Family breakdown can lead to members feeling alienated and, as a result, crime and violence may prevail.  Building strong and healthy families is an essential step in creating a community of acceptance and care.  The effects of a strong and healthy family can have great benefits for the members and help them to be better citizens.  When this happens, the whole community benefits.
