Getting to Grande Prairie
Main Highway Routes
From the East
Highway 43
Travelling from Edmonton, head west onto Highway 16. About ½ hour from the city, take the junction onto Highway 43 and travel northwest through Whitecourt, Fox Creek, and Valleyview.

From the South
Highway 40 (Bighorn Route)
Travel through the beautiful wilderness of the foothills of the Alberta Rockies. Starting off from BC or Southern Alberta, head north through Jasper National Park and onto Grande Cache. From there, continue north to Grande Prairie. This is also a great scenic route to Grande Prairie if coming from the Edmonton area to the east.

From the West
BC and The Alaska Highway
Coming either from Prince George to the southwest, or from Alaska and the Yukon through Fort St. John, head towards Dawson Creek (mile 0 of the Alaska Highway). From Dawson Creek, follow BC Highway 2. At the BC/Alberta border, this becomes Highway 43 which continues onto Grande Prairie.

From the North
Highway 2
From further to the north, continue from Highway 1 in the Northwest Territories down along Alberta Highway 35. Travelling from Peace River and area, continue further south along Highway 2.
