On 18 July 2007, the Grande Prairie RCMP Detachment celebrated the one-year anniversary of its move to 10202-99 Street, next to the Provincial Courthouse and Provincial Building. This new location houses more than 80 uniformed officers, plus a number of public service employees and Grande Prairie Enforcement Services, and provides service to roughly 50,000 residents of the City of Grande Prairie and more than 20,000 residents in surrounding areas.

The new detachment is four times the size of the previous, and built to resemble a fort - tall, skinny windows represent the gunports of bygone days, and the public access area is located where one might have once found a parade ground. In addition, a below-ground tunnel connects the cellblock area to the courthouse for secure transport of prisoners.

The building is home to a number of departments, including the Family Violence Unit, Victims' Assistance,  Police Dog Services, Forensic Identification, Integrated Traffic Unit, and Community Policing.
