Archie HarveyCpl. Donald (Archie) Harvey was a member of the Grande Prairie RCMP who was killed in the line of duty on June 23 1967. He was struck in the chest by a single round fired from a .22-caliber rifle while investigating a homicide. At the time, he had served 16 years with the RCMP in eight different detachments in Alberta. A plaque in his honour was raised at Depot Division in Regina, as well as at K Division Headquarters in Edmonton, Alberta.

An annual golf tournament is held in his memory. This tournament is one of the largest running tournaments held in Grande Prairie and funds raised go to the Archie Harvey Memorial Bursary at the Grande Prairie Regional College, as well as other charities and agencies in the community. The bursary is distributed on the basis of "need and scholastic ability" and is given to those who might not otherwise be able to continue in their post-secondary education.

A memorial write-up on Cpl. Harvey is available at the RCMP Veterans Association website
