Muskoseepi Skatepark Expansion Design Input Workshop
Posted Date: 7/14/2017

On Tuesday, July 18 Newline Skateparks will conduct a design workshop for residents interested in contributing their ideas to the Muskoseepi Skatepark expansion. The proposed design integrates with the park, and will serve as an attraction to skateboarders across the city, with an aesthetically pleasing design that also appeals to non-skateboarders.

Date: Tuesday, July 18
Time: 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Location: Ernie Radbourne Pavilion, Muskoseepi Park

“We’re seeing an increase in the amount of people participating in sports such as skateboarding,” says Kylee Haining, Recreation and Sport Manager for the City of Grande Prairie. “An expansion of the skatepark facilities at Muskoseepi Park ensures that users can safely participate in all action sports.”

The proposed skatepark design includes features for skateboarders of all skill levels, whilst still serving as an attractive addition to the Muskoseepi Park landscape.

Growth of Action Sports

The City recognizes that skateboarding, freestyle BMX bike riding, in-line skating and parkour have become extremely popular as they appeal to all genders, ages and ethnic backgrounds. Specific facilities are required in order to safely accommodate the continued growth of these sports.
