Posted Date: 7/10/2017
Utility box Ten local art and photography works have been selected to beautify utility boxes throughout the City of Grande Prairie.

Each year, utility cabinets within the city are wrapped with local artwork printed on graffiti resistant vinyl film. The goal being to deter graffiti and beautify the community.

2017 marked the fourth year of this program and the Community Enhancement Committee was extremely impressed with the number and quality of local submissions. Overall, ten utility cabinets throughout Grande Prairie were wrapped in art this year.

“Each year we see an increased amount of submissions,” says Kristi Lea, Community Enhancement Facilitator at the City of Grande Prairie. “The committee was impressed at not only the amount, but also at the high calibre of the works entered.”

The Community Enhancement Committee congratulates all the artists who submitted entries in 2017. The program resumes next year, with another round of submissions called for in early 2018.
