Purchasing Your Ticket

There are three different ways to pay for your ride.  For detailed fare options, visit our Fares page.  If you are paying with cash, drop your change into the fare canister and take your seat. Please note that our drivers don't carry change so you will exact fare.

When to ask for a transfer ticket

Transfers are FREE on GP Transit. When boarding the bus, ask the bus driver for a transfer and tell the driver which route it will be used for. Transfers are valid for 90 minutes and can be used only by the passenger to whom they have been issued. The 90 minutes start after transfer has been torn.

Getting on the Bus

Have your pass, ticket or exact change ready when boarding the bus.
Please step out of the shelter as the bus approaches so you can be seen by the driver.

Lost and Found

View our Lost and Found page to learn what to do if you leave an item on the bus.

Making Room for Everyone

“Move on back” and keep the front seats free for seniors and those with less mobility. Please make room for everyone, 1 person = 1 seat.

Being Considerate About Noise

For everyone’s comfort, earphones are to be used when using any listening device (radio, MP3, iPods, etc,). Please keep the language appropriate for all ages.

Safety Tips

  • Please keep all large articles out of the aisle, and have strollers or walkers folded or out of the aisle, so others can pass safely.
  • Keep your ride clean and looking good by placing all garbage in the containers provided on the bus.
  • For your safety, please do not engage the operator in unnecessary conversation while the bus is in motion.
  • To avoid potential injury, please do not chase after the bus once it has left the curb.

Food & Drink

Open food and beverages are not permitted on the bus.

Please Respect Your Driver

GP Transit supports a Respectful Workplace; abusive or inappropriate behaviour towards other passengers  or our staff will not be tolerated and riding privileges may be suspended.
