102 St. Geometric Upgrades

About the Project: 102 Street Upgrades

The basis for this project comes from the 102 St. Traffic Study which was adopted in 2014. This study reviled the congestion at the intersection of 102 St. and 117 Ave. While many solutions were discussed, it has been decided that the best option to allow the road to handle the current and future traffic volumes is to implement concrete medians to aid in traffic flow. These medians are to be placed to allow the intersection to follow a right-in right-out model once construction is completed. This solution allows for higher current traffic volumes and addresses any current safety concerns.

Budget:
The approved 2017 budget for the 102 St. Geometric Upgrades is $400,000. Funding supplied by: Municipal Sustainability Initiative Grant, and Capital Tax.

Timeline:

The construction schedule is from June - October, 2017.
