2016 Bridge Repair Program

About the Project:

This is an annual program for all bridges including pedestrian throughout the City. For any major concerns found a separate project will be setup with the appropriate budget.

General scope of work is: Bridge in Winter

  • Concrete deck crack sealing
  • Wooden deck repairs
  • Abutment repairs
  • Bridge cleaning
  • Minor miscellaneous repairs 

Scope will vary for each site based on need.

Budget:

The 2015 budget for the Annual Bridge Repair Program is $250,000.00. Funding supplied by Capital Tax.

Timeline:

2016 maintenance schedule is planned for July-October 2016.

Bridges in Muskoseepi Park:

About the Project:

The narrow yellow bridge near 76 Ave. and 102 St. (Bridge #86223) was upgraded to a wider bridge similar to the other bridges along the Muskoseepi Park pathway system.

Budget:

The budget for the bridges in Muskoseepi Park is $495,000.00. Funding supplied by:

Yellow Walking Bridge

 Gas Tax Fund $300,000.00
 Tax $140,000.00
 Urban Park Reserve $  55,000.00
 Municipal Sustainability Initiative Grant
$350,000.00
 

Timeline:

Construction was completed in early spring.

The bridge near 71 Ave. and 102 St. (Bridge #86224) was also upgraded to a wider bridge, similar to the other bridges along the Muskoseepi Park pathway system.
