Deter Graffiti and Beautify the Community!

Deadline for submissions for consideration for 2019 is March 31, 2019.

The goal of this program is to deter graffiti and beautify the community. The art covering City owned utility cabinets is selected local art and photography. The artwork submitted is vetted using the following criteria to select the art:

• Local images
• Visual appeal
• Ease to wrap the image on the cabinet

Themes are:

  • Photography (local)
  • Cultural
  • Youth
  • Art

The utility box wrapping has started for this year and hope to have all completed before the end of summer.  The wraps will be placed as quickly as the weather and conditions allow for them to be done, so if you don't see your favourite artwork just yet, please be patient.  We will be updating our Facebook page as soon as we are notified of a completed wrap.

Downtown Area

In 2014, Utility Cabinets in the Downtown core were wrapped with historical photos to celebrate Grande Prairie's 100th Anniversary. This theme was continued in 2015 with four more utility cabinets wrapped in historical photos, such as this one.
