Every year, Parks Operations will trial some new flower species in order to research what will grow in Grande Prairie. As a result, some flowers have been found to be more reliable than others. After a full growing season, the flower’s performance and vigour are recorded to determine if the plant will be used again in future plantings.

Here are just a few annual flowers that grow well with proper care and monitoring:

Wave Petunias (Petunia x hybrid)

Salvia (Salvia farinacea)
