Marking Our Nation's Sesquicentennial MGD 2017 Weather Change Notification

Municipal Government Day is part of the City of Grande Prairie's Canada 150 festivities and is kicking off the Canada Day long weekend celebrations. Featured this year are free performances from chart topping artist Tim Hicks and his guests Dan Davidson and the Range Road Ramblers.

Canada 150 is the theme for this year's annual community barbeque and family entertainment event on June 28 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Revolution Place. Residents and visitors will find all of the best things they've come to know and love about Municipal Government Day.

What Can You Expect?

MGD (Municipal Government Day) is a FREE annual event hosted by the City of Grande Prairie; a fun-filled afternoon at Revolution Place.

Concerts – The Range Road Ramblers are set to hit the Revolution Place stage for 5:30 p.m. followed by Dan Davidson and then headliner Tim Hicks will take the show to around 8:30 p.m.

We are ready for you to come down and enjoy all of the events and learn about the many services that are offered by City departments and community partners.

Free BBQ - treat yourself to the free community BBQ from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

MGD Highlights:

• Live entertainment from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. featuring Tim Hicks with guests Dan Davidson and the Range Road Ramblers

• City departments & equipment displays & Community exhibits - Learn about the benefits of being a member of the Eastlink Centre, get up close and personal with a firetruck and ask City Councillors questions. We have it all in one place!

• Bring your appetite! - Council members and City employees are staffing the grill for the free community barbecue. 

• Kids a-hoy! - Have a blast in one of the many bouncy castles, enjoy face painting, or jam out to some local entertainment!

• This event is unfortunately not pet friendly. Please leave your fur friends at home this time.

Transit will be free on June 28 from noon – 10 p.m.
