Family Day Weekend Events Announced

The City is proud to celebrate Family Day with events over the weekend of February 17-19. Residents are invited to many events across a variety of dates, times and venues so every family has the opportunity to come together for a weekend of fun.

Sun Life Financial Free Family Day Weekend Public Skate

Join us for a public skate at the Dave Barr Community Centre. Remember to bring your skates and helmet for an afternoon of free fun. Approved safety helmets are required for all skaters under the age of 18. Helmets are recommended for adult skaters. Skates are required in order to go on ice.

When: 1:30 p.m. - 2:45 p.m.
Where: Dave Barr Community Centre

Family Day Fun at the Grande Prairie Museum 
Drop in for "mini" old fashioned carnival games with the family; win prizes, build a log cabin and challenge your loved ones to a scavenger hunt throughout the Museum's gallery. Come record your family story with the South Peace Regional Archives (SPRA) and have it included in their Family Day Series.
When: 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Family Day Activities at Revolution Place sponsored by New Horizon Co-Op
Visit Revolution Place for an afternoon of activity. Children may enjoy bouncy castles, face painting, and activity tables. There will also be draws for gift baskets and gift cards. Revolution Grill Concession will be open.

Sun Life Financial Free Family Day Weekend Public Skate

You are invited to join us for a Free Sun Life Financial Public Skate at the Coca-Cola Centre. Grab your skates and helmet and come join us for an afternoon of free fun!

Free Family Day Skate at Revolution Place Sponsored by New Horizon Co-Op
Take to the ice for free at Revolution Place! Skates are required for all on the ice. Helmets required for those under the age of 18. Some E-Z Skaters will be available. Snacks and beverages provided by New Horizon Co-Op.
When: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

New Horizon Co-op Free Family Day B.B.Q and Fieldhouse Activities at the Eastlink Centre
Visit the Eastlink Centre on Family Day for a day filled with free family fun for everyone including a free BBQ, compliments of New Horizon Co-op! Lunch includes a hot dog or hamburger and a drink.
  • Free Family Day Fieldhouse Activities from 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. including: bubble bump soccer, face painting, bouncy castles, tot blocks, giant board games and imagination playground
  • Free Family Day B.B.Q from 12 p.m. - 3 p.m. while supplies last.
Sun Life Financial Free Family Day Swim at Eastlink Centre
Bring the whole family and make a splash on Family Day at the Eastlink Centre with free admission all day, courtesy of Sun Life Financial! There will also be Zorb balls on the FlowRider and an inflatable obstacle course in the competition pool.

Neighbourhood Association Events

Winter Blast is a free event series where residents may meet their neighbours and take part in fun activities such as: ice-skating, tobogganing, snowman contests, hot chocolate and more.
