A shed or garage is an accessory building that is not attached to the principle dwelling.
Depending on the size of the structure, you may need a building permit, an engineered floor, and a development permit.
If the square footage of the building you are looking to construct is over 108 square feet, yes you need a building permit.
Any slab over 592 square feet requires engineered drawings. Alternatively, footings and a 4' foundation wall can be constructed.
If the square footage exceeds 215 (20 square meters), yes a development permit is required. Consult with a Development Officer at firstname.lastname@example.org for further information regarding setbacks and height restrictions.
