Subtrade Permit Information - Do I need a Permit?


An electrical permit is required if you are running any amount of new wire. Download the Commercial Building/Subtrade Permit Application (1,112 KB)here to apply for an electrical permit.


As of August 16th, 2016, the HVAC permit is included in the building permit fee and falls under the direct responsibility of the Building Contractor. However, a permit is required for every heating unit installed in a house/living unit, in the event your project also includes hydronic heating, ensure you apply for the applicable permit. See link below.

Plumbing / Gas

If you are breaking concrete in order to lay pipes (also for floor a drain) or adding any fixtures you will need a plumbing permit. Download the Commercial Building/Subtrade Permit Application  (PDF 1,112 KB) to apply for a Plumbing Permit.

Hydronic Heating
