Home Support

Who is the Home Support Program for?

The Home Support Program is for families and individuals experiencing disruptions to normal family routine making it difficult to maintain and manage a healthy home.

When may service be provided?

  • When ageing interferes with ability to manage/ maintain home.
  • When emotional stress impacts coping and ability to function.
  • When health issues are evident.

What can Home Support workers assist with?

  • Basic/light housekeeping (laundry, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, changing bedding, washing dishes)
  • Transportation (shopping, appointments)
  • Respite Care (short-term care)
  • Companioning (friendly visiting)
  • Coaching (household management
  • Meals (planning, preparation, storage)


    Services may be offered at a subsidized rate; the fee for service is an hourly rate
    based on client’s monthly household income which is determined at the time of assessment.
