Organizational DevelopmentIn City Council’s 2012-2014 Strategic Business Plan, a strategic direction under the Focus Area- Balancing Excellence with Value was to undertake a review of programs and services.

This value establishes a focus on providing services to citizens that are appropriate and reasonable, while ensuring we are efficient and effective in our business. Growing from this mandate, the Organizational Development (OD) Specialist position was created.

This business unit is responsible for conducting service reviews of all the City departments, and reports directly to the City Manager. By identifying and promoting processes and opportunities, this service helps business units become more efficient whilst reducing costs and enhancing exceptional customer service.

The OD Specialist directly supports and collaborates with the Corporate Leadership Team, as well as the business and functional units across the City, to identify and develop new Innovation concepts that supports the City of Grande Prairie’s Business Strategy.
