The County of Grande Prairie No. 1 and the Municipal District of Greenview No. 16, have regularly provided grant funding to allow us to continue to offer a wide variety of Programming, new exhibits and special events for our Community and surrounding areas.
Through their valuable contributions and support, we have been able to host free Community events, add additional events and activities to our annual itinerary, secure a wide variety of unique entertainment and activities for the public to participate in, and continuously tap into valuable resources that allow us to continue to be an integral part of Grande Prairie's cultural mosaic.
Our 2017 travelling exhibit, Freemasonry: A History Hidden in Plain Sight was made possible in part by the Museum Assistance Program (MAP). We thank MAP for providing the financial assistance required to bring this great feature to Grande Prairie.
The Grande Prairie Museum received the Recognized Museum designation from AMA 2014 - 2019 Alberta Museums Association (AMA).
This designation extends our status until 2019.
Grande Prairie Museum received this award in 2014 for a unique passport program titled Heritage Hunters. The afternoon program brought new residents to Grande Prairie into the museum to talk about their homeland and included activities for both children and adults.
This award recognizes exceptional work and innovative thinking in museums throughout the province that contribute to the social, cultural and educational fabric of Alberta.

The Grande Prairie Regional Tourism Association is an ambassador for the Grande Prairie Region and is the visible voice for the industry. Grande Prairie Regional Tourism Association is a non-profit marketing
organization funded by partnership fees, memberships, marketing programs and fundraising initiatives. GPRTA is dedicated to increasing local business revenue by promoting the Grande Prairie area through every possible marketing avenue and is continually seeking new opportunities to showcase the region.
