Through active engagement and creative opportunities, students will learn about the Peace Region’s history and culture. Program themes and activities can supplement Alberta Education Programs of Study in Social Studies, Science and Art. Programs can be adapted to suit a variety of ages.

Programs are approximately 1.5 hours in length and accommodate up to 30 participants.

Please note: In accordance with the Grande Prairie Fire Department’s safety codes, the Heritage Discovery Centre's learning classroom has a capacity of 21 persons. The 21 person capacity includes the teacher, chaperones, students, and the Programming Coordinator. Any group visiting the Heritage Discovery Centre must follow this safety standard.

For this reason, as of October 1, 2017; if your group is larger than 21 persons, the class will need to be divided into two smaller groups. The teacher will be responsible for taking one group for a self-guided tour while the other group completes activities with the Programming Coordinator in the Rotary Learning Theatre classroom; after 40 minutes the groups will switch.
