Summer Camp Brochure

Before you register your child for a camp, it’s important to know:

• All campers must be the appropriate age for the camp by the first day of camp.
• As part of the program, camps may leave their facility to walk to nearby green spaces or playgrounds.
• We do not recommend full day camps for children three and four years old, as camps are physically active and there is no rest time.

What to bring to camp:
To have a successful and fun time at camp, we request that you pack the following items each day.

Please ensure that for all full day programs you bring:
• A water bottle
• A hat
• Outdoor running shoes
• Sunscreen/bugspray (optional)
• A bathing suit and towel
• A nut free and nutritious lunch with snacks

Please ensure that for all half day programs you bring:
• A water bottle
• Outdoor running shoes
• Nut free snacks

We request that you leave all valuable items and personal electronics at home. This includes cell phones and games. We are not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen items.

Inclusion for campers with disabilities
The City of Grande Prairie Summer Camps are inclusive programs and all are welcomed to attend. For your child to have their best day camp experience, please make us aware of any needs that could affect their participation. There are times when a child requires more support than our ratios provide. In this case a day camp supervisor will request the parent/guardian to provide a support worker/aide to attend camp with their child.

Medication
Medications must be brought daily and in their original container. The label must indicate the type of medication, dosage, participant's name, physician's name and any instructions our staff may need to be aware of. In addition, a medication release form must be filled out.
