Grande Prairie Transit is introducing new electronic fareboxes.

Paper passes and tickets will be phased out and replaced with a plastic re-loadable electronic smart card known as the SUPERPASS. Cash in the form of coins only will be accepted, no bills.

The SUPERPASS is a new, re-loadable, electronic smart card that makes it easy and convenient to simply tap-and-go to pay your bus fare!

Both monthly passes and rides can be purchased and loaded onto the SUPERPASS. Re-loads can be done on-line at or at a City-facility. Pre-loaded cards can be purchased wherever transit products are sold.

You can use this SUPERPASS month after month by simply purchasing and reloading the value of fare product that you wish. As these SUPERPASSes are reloadable there is no need to obtain a new card each month, simply reload the fare.

Purchase your new card today wherever bus passes are sold.

Register your SUPERPASS for improved benefits such as:

  • Tracking your balance anywhere, any time online
  • Your card can be cancelled in the event of loss.
  • The remaining balance on the card can be transferred to a new card.

Registration can be done online at or at participating City of Grande Prairie facilities (City Hall, City Service Centre, Eastlink Centre, the Community Social Development office, and Muskoseepi Park).

We’re introducing the SUPERPASS and the electronic fare collection system as a way to modernize and improve the customer experience on Grande Prairie Transit. It is important to us to constantly seek innovation to help serve you better.
