Grande Prairie To Host Two Major Curling Events Canada’s elite curling teams will converge on Revolution Place in Grande Prairie, Alta., for two major championships during the 2015-16 season, it was announced today by the Canadian Curling Association. The 2015 Home Hardware Cup (Dec. 2-6) along with the 2016 Scotties Tournament of Hearts (Feb. 20-28) have been awarded to Grande Prairie, and will be staged at the 3,000-seat Revolution Arena.

Residents are reminded to move their vehicles off the road so crews can clear the snow. Continuous Plowing on Main Roads “Priority 1 Main Arterials (100 St, 68 Ave, Resources Roads Hwy 40-Wapiti Road) and Priority 2 Bus Routes will get continuous plowing,” says Robert Carroll Transportation Services Manager. “Parking Bans are in effect from 7:00am to 9:00pm Monday to Friday on permanent snow routes. Snow Operations Update
Permanent Snow Routes Update With the potential for snowfall accumulations to reach up to 40 centimetres by Friday, Enforcement Services will be patrolling Priority I and Priority 2 Roads and ticketing any vehicles parked in violation of the current Parking Ban. “This will ensure efficient and safe snow removal,” says Robert Carroll Transportation Services Manager. “In a week where we are expecting significant snowfall accumulations, we need vehicles off the roads to allow for a smoother snow removal process.” Carroll reminds residents that Parking Bans are in effect weekdays between 7:00am and 9:00pm.

Parking Bans - Nov 26th
Parking Bans Declared on Permanent Snow Routes – Nov 26th Due to recent snowfall, the City has declared Parking Bans on all Permanent Snow Routes. Permanent Snow Routes are all Priority I and Priority II roads in the City. Parking Bans will be in place from 7:00am until 9:00pm, Monday-Friday beginning Wednesday, November 26th.
