City Council Highlights – Monday March 23, 2015
Bylaw C-1313 Road Closure Council voted to close a portion of 140 Ave. to the west of 100 Street, south of Lot 9, Block 1, Plan 942 1551. This will allow a safer intersection at 139 Ave. to be built sooner for access to the industrial and commercial lands.

Revised Eastlink Operating Budget Proposed
The Corporate Services Committee will be asked Tuesday to recommend to City Council that a revised operating budget for the Eastlink Centre be approved. Community Living Director Garry Roth is also updating the committee on a series of other actions underway to ensure the financial health of the aquatics and wellness facility.

Council Meets With Provincial Reps, Business Leaders
City Council completed three days of meetings in Edmonton Friday on a dual-purpose trip to the provincial capital. The visit included sessions with government representatives on advocacy issues and business leaders to promote the City. It was coupled with Council’s annual strategic planning session.

Northwest and Hidden Valley Area Structure Plan First readings were given to Bylaw C-1106-04, an amendment to the Northwest Area Structure Plan and Bylaw C-1028-D, amending the Hidden Valley Area Structure Plan. The proposed bylaws would establish the approved road network in these areas.

Spring Road Bans in Effect for Thursday, Mar. 12

Week 2 Residential Snow Plowing Update – Friday, Feb. 20 Tomorrow, crews will be tidying up and plowing any roads that did not get finished during last Friday’s Residential Snow Plowing Service. In order to help facilitate drainage in trouble spots, crews also continue with the picking up of piles and the hauling away of snow storage in and around the City.
