Certification of date of sending tax notices
NOTICE is hereby given that property tax notices for the City of Grande Prairie, made under provision of the Municipal Government Act, Section 336, were mailed May 22, 2015 and that taxes have been imposed. Taxes are due June 30, 2015 other than those on the tax prepayment plan. If you have any questions in regard to your notice please phone the tax department at 780-538-0315.

Spray Parks Open for the Weekend

Council Highlights – May 19, 2015
Geothermal - Fueled Electricity for Grande Prairie Council heard a presentation from Jonathan Banks, a research associate from the University of Alberta, which suggests Grande Prairie is a prime location for a geothermal energy plant. The initiative is raising funds and awareness to conduct a study.

Movie Night Profiles Downtown Enhancement Plans

City Council Highlights- May 4, 2015
Land Use Bylaw Amendment C-1260-32 - Rezoning RG to RT Council declined a request to rezone properties at 9617 & 9619-107 Avenue from RG -General Residential to RT-Residential Transition. The proposed amendment was to accommodate the construction of fourplexes at the Hillside addresses. The application was denied due to already existing challenges with on-street parking and snow removal in the neighbourhood. Council voted to refer development of the Hillside area to the Community Growth Committee.

Residential Street Sweeping Continues Wednesday, May 6
On Wednesday, crews will be sweeping priority and residential roads in Avondale, College Park, Swanavon, Highland Park, Smith/Morgan Meadows, Cobblestone and Riverstone. To ensure crews are able to do a thorough job, residents are asked to keep their vehicles off the road. Residents are also reminded that it can take up to four weeks to complete an entire area.
