The City of Grande Prairie, in conjunction with its service provider AudienceView Ticketing, is upgrading the Crystal Centre’s ticketing system starting at 5:00 pm today.
Crystal Centre General Manager Jane Cada-Sharp says, “The recent Elton John on sale overloaded the City’s infrastructure and led to the system crashing. Meetings with the City’s Information Technology department, AudienceView Ticketing representatives and the Crystal Centre have resulted in the decision to have AudienceView Ticketing host the entire system on their servers.”
“We applaud the Crystal Centre for making the decision to transition from an in-house hosting solution to being fully hosted by AudienceView in a secure cloud based environment,” said Kevin Kimsa, CEO at AudienceView Ticketing. “AudienceView’s cloud hosting environment is a state of the art solution that provides organizations with the opportunity to exploit a massive data center to support rapid growth and better manage on-sale spikes. The move to this hosting model vastly improves performance on demand at a very reasonable cost to the venue, thus achieving economies of scale.”
AudienceView Ticketing hosts a variety of venues and organizations including but not limited to Moncton, New Brunwick’s Magnetic Hill (approximately 100,000 seats); University of Minnesota Athletics (50,000 seat football stadium with 10,000 to 14,000 arena seats); Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee and TCU Place in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. AudienceView Ticketing also has clients in Europe and Asia.
Cada-Sharp adds, “The upgrade may take up to 25 hours to complete and we expect to be up and running by Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 6:00 pm. During that time, the Box Office is unable to sell or print tickets in person, by telephone or online. We thank everyone for their patience and consideration during the upgrade.”
If there are any questions or concerns, patrons are asked to contact the Box Office at (780) 538-0387.
