Open House For Bear Creek North Area Structure Plan
Posted Date: 3/13/2018

A public open house for the Bear Creek North Area Structure Plan (ASP) is taking place on March 21, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m.

The City of Grande Prairie and ISL Engineering and Land Services Ltd. are seeking feedback for an ASP for approximately 2,000 hectares lying north of the Grande Prairie Airport and west of 116 Street.

The ASP will provide a framework to guide long-term planning and future development of the area. The ASP will focus on preserving the portion of Bear Creek corridor that runs through the area. Special consideration will be given to existing residential, agricultural and recreational land uses throughout the planning process for the ASP. The goal is to allow existing uses and future residential and industrial/commercial development to co-exist in a compatible way.

The project is currently in Phase 3, Design Concepts and Draft Plan Preparation, and the City and ISL invite area landowners, residents and stakeholders to attend a public open house (drop-in format, no RSVP required) on:

Date: Wednesday, March 21, 2018
Time: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Place: Country Roads RV Park (Old Barn Hall) 63061A Township Road 722, Grande Prairie

The purpose of this session is to review and provide feedback on two draft land use/road network options that were developed based on input gathered during the landowner workshop and public open house held in December 2017. The Engagement Summary from the December sessions can be viewed on the project website.

Feedback gathered during the open house will help the project team identify a preferred land use/road network option for the Plan area.
