World Book Day Celebration Hosted by Dave Barr Community Centre

Join the Dave Barr Community Centre on Friday, April 20th from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00  p.m. for the Free World Book Day Celebration.

All ages of book lovers are welcome to attend but the event is largely geared towards children 0-12 years old. It is a great opportunity for families to spend time together at an event where they will find a variety of ways to be entertained, engaged, educated and most importantly have some fun.

Activities planned for the event include: World Book Day 2018


  • Book themed active games and craft stations
  • Blocks station 
  • Bouncy castles
  • Face painting
  • “Mother Goose” baby station
  • Princesses and Knights station
  • Scooter board rides (for ages 6-12)
  • Performers

A book swap is also taking place as part of the event. Three categories of books are available: ages 0-6 years, 7-12 years and 13+ years. Attendees are asked to please bring a book for the swap.

Guests are encouraged to come dressed up as their favourite book character to enter to win a door prize.
