Downtown Construction Information Session Taking Place on April 24.

Downtown business owners and residents are invited to an information session regarding the construction of phase 3 of the Downtown Rehabilitation and Streetscapes Project.

The drop-in session is on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Teresa Sargent Hall, in the Montrose Cultural Centre, located at 9839 103 Avenue.

Project representatives will be present to discuss construction and respond to in-person inquiries. The representatives include: the City’s engineering and communications departments; the engineering design consultant, ISL Engineering and Land Services; and the contractor, Wapiti Gravel Suppliers.

Information at this session will be shared in a series of stations, each dedicated to a different topic such as: communications and how to receive the most up-to-date information; detours and key milestones; and how physical construction impacts nearby businesses.

Phase 3 construction occurs on 100 Avenue from 100 Street to 102 Street from May to October 2018.

Background
The Downtown Rehabilitation and Streetscapes Project is a multi-phase initiative designed to create a modern, revitalized downtown through underground infrastructure upgrades and an enhanced streetscape elements.

City Council awarded phase 3 construction to Wapiti Gravel Suppliers on March 26, 2018 and awarded the design of phases 3 and 4 to ISL Engineering and Land Services on April 3, 2017. Funding for phase 3 construction was approved by City Council as part of the budget deliberations that took place in November 2017.
