Minor Work to Begin Downtown
Posted Date: 4/25/2018
The Downtown Rehabilitation and Streetscapes Project is a multi-phase initiative designed to create a modern, revitalized downtown through underground infrastructure upgrades and enhanced streetscape elements.

Currently, construction crews prepare for Phase 3 of the Downtown Rehabilitation and Streetscapes Project by installing temporary water lines in the north and south alleyways along 100 Avenue between 100 Street and 102 Street.

The work is expected to occur from April 26 to May 20, 2018. There will be no impact to traffic on 100 Avenue and 101 Street. Water service to buildings will not be interrupted at this time.

The purpose of the temporary waterlines is to maintain water connections to buildings located on 100 Avenue for the duration of construction.

The work includes cutting pavement, excavation of trenches, placement of temporary waterlines in alleyways, and backfilling the trenches with gravel. Once the permanent waterlines to businesses in the construction zone have been installed, tested, commissioned and accepted, the temporary water will be disconnected and removed.
