Transit Re-Routes for Downtown Construction Season to Begin on May 14
Posted Date: 5/11/2018

Grande Prairie Transit Route 4 will be re-routed beginning Monday, May 14 to accommodate road closures due to downtown construction.

This is the first of several re-routes to buses travelling through the Downtown Rehabilitation and Streetscapes Project area on 100 Avenue between 100 Street and 102 Street. Route 4 is the first route to be impacted with a detour on its outbound trip from Town Centre Mall on the way to GPRC.

Starting Monday, May 14, Route 4 will leave Towne Centre Mall and turn right onto 99 Avenue, right on Resources Road, and right again on 97 Avenue. It will then proceed across downtown on 97 Avenue, turn right onto 102 Street, and return to its regular routing with a left on 100 Avenue. When this detour is in effect, Route 4 will not serve stop location 400 (located in front of Midwest on Main at 100 Avenue and 100 Street).

Route 4 Detour- May 14, 2018

The incoming trip on Route 4, as well as other routes, will not be affected.

Please note that this configuration will not remain in effect all summer. As construction progresses, both Route 2 and Route 4 will be subject to additional detours.

All downtown construction detours this summer will be reflected on the Where’s My Ride Bus Tracker, so passengers can see the new routings and stop closures in real time.

The Downtown Rehabilitation and Streetscapes Project is a multiphase initiative designed to create a modern, accessible and vibrant downtown core through underground infrastructure upgrades and aboveground streetscape enhancements. For more information about the project, visit:
