Reco Construction Ltd. will begin working at the intersection of 102 Street and 117 Avenue on Wednesday, May 30, as part of the 102 Street Geometric Upgrades project.
They will be performing multiple construction activities to install a median and convert the intersection of 102 Street and 117 Avenue into a right in/right out location. Construction activities include: concrete work, pavement milling and paving, pavement markings and some minor sewer work.
The project is anticipated to be complete around the end of June.
Traffic will be reduced to 30km/h and all work areas will be coned off. Traffic may also be reduced to one lane from time to time. Please remember to follow all posted construction signs.
The basis for this project comes from the 102 St. Traffic Study, which was adopted in 2014. This study revealed congestion at the intersection of 102 Street and 117 Avenue. While many solutions were discussed, it has been decided that the best option to allow the road to handle the current and future traffic volumes is to implement concrete medians to aid in traffic flow.
