Enforcement Services Seeking Public Assistance in Locating Dog After Serious Attack

City of Grande Prairie Enforcement Services are seeking public assistance in locating a dog. The dog is described as a tan and white pit bull type dog that may be at-large.

On June 5, 2018 at approximately 9:20 p.m., a serious dog attack occurred near 86 Street and 103 Avenue, Grande Prairie, Alberta. A female walking two small dogs was attacked by two loose pit bull type dogs from a nearby residence. 

RCMP and Enforcement Services attended the scene and found two injured individuals. Responding officers confirmed which two dogs were responsible for the attack and were able to gain possession of one of the two dogs.

The woman who was attacked was taken to the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital and treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries. The second victim was the owner of the dogs responsible for the attack, she was treated at the scene by EMS staff and released. 

One dog still remains unaccounted for and RCMP and Grande Prairie Enforcement Services are asking the public to look out for a tan and white pit bull type dog that may be at large. If anyone sees the dog please call Grande Prairie Enforcement Services at 780-830-5790 or RCMP at 780-830-5700.
