On Tuesday, June 26, 2018, the intersection of 100 Avenue and 102 Street will be closed as part of the Downtown Rehabilitation and Streetscapes Project.
The closure is expected to last for 3 weeks. No traffic will be permitted through the intersection. Motorists are encouraged to use 84 Avenue, 108 Avenue, or 116 Avenue to access the west side of the city, and to use 100 Street to travel north/south. Eastbound traffic through downtown will not be affected.
Beginning Thursday, June 28, 100 Avenue from 101 Street to 100 Street will also be closed to vehicle traffic as construction progresses east.
Pedestrians can detour around the intersection using the west side of 102 Street. The contractor will be working on underground and aboveground infrastructure at these locations.
The Downtown Rehabilitation and Streetscapes Project is a multi-phase initiative designed to create a modern, revitalized downtown through necessary underground infrastructure upgrades and streetscape improvements. For more information visit cityofgp.com/ourdowntown.
