The public is invited to attend an open house where proposed design drawings of the Maskwôtêh Park Pedestrian Bridge will be available for feedback.

Maskwôtêh Park is located in northwest Grande Prairie between the Bear Creek and the neighbourhood of Royal Oaks. The pedestrian bridge is proposed to connect the park to the new hospital grounds and nearby trails.

Project representatives from the City’s engineering department, and consulting engineers will be present at the open house to discuss the project.

Date: Tuesday, July 31, 2018
Time: Drop-in format between 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Location: Centre 2000, Al Robertson Room, 11330 106 Street

The engineering design is scheduled to be completed by fall 2018. Construction of the bridge will open for bid at a later date, pending budget approvals.

Background

Bridges assist the overall transportation network by helping pedestrians move safely from one point to another. Once constructed, the bridge will also provide emergency vehicle access to Maskwôtêh Park and the neighbourhood.

On April 16, 2018, ISL Engineering and Land Services Ltd. (ISL) was approved as the Engineering Consultant for the Maskwôtêh Park / Hospital Pedestrian Bridge & Trail Connection Project.
