Posted Date: 9/5/2018
Residents may provide feedback to the City on the Storm Drainage Master Plan at an open house on September 11 at the Centre 2000 located at 11330 106 Street.

Residents may drop-in between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. to speak to a project representative, view displays and engage with the master plan. Residents are also encouraged to attend one of two 15 minute presentations at 4:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m., the presentations will guide attendees through the Storm Drainage Master Plan and go over some technical information. Each of the presentations will be followed by a 15 minute question and answer session.

The Storm Drainage Master Plan is a long-term planning document that considers the entirety of the City’s storm drainage system to understand how different aspects of City infrastructure interact with each other and impact water flows.

Once complete, the Storm Drainage Master Plan will identify specific areas of the network that preform well, areas where improvement is needed, and the location and scope of new infrastructure to be considered for installation.

Proper function of the storm and drainage network within the City is important as the system moves precipitation such as rain and snow melt water away from private properties through the system which encompasses catch basins, pipes, storm ponds, and roadways.
