Daily Snow Clearing Updates - November 26 to 30, 2018

November 30, 2018

  • Transportation services is currently monitoring priority 1 and 2 routes and are prepared begin snow clearing if snow persists. 
  • Crews are currently implementing ice control on priority 1 and 2 routes.
  • It is expected that this round of residential snow clearing will be complete today. We thank residents for their patience and cooperation throughout the efforts. 
  • Parking bans are not in effect. 
  • City owned trails and sidewalks are being monitored for ice and snow. 

November 29, 2018

  • Residential snow clearing takes place today in the neighbourhoods of Westpointe, Pinnacle, Mission Heights, O'Brien Lake, and Stoneridge.
  • Tomorrow, residential snow removal continues in Gateway, Royal Oaks, Arbour Hills, Northridge, Crystal Heights, Lakeland, Crystal Lake, and Copperwood.
  • City owned sidewalks and trails are being monitored and treated with sand and salt. 
  • Ice control crews are monitoring the City's road network for icy conditions and sanding and salting.
  • Crews are also picking up snow piles and clearing snow storage areas for future snowfall. 
  • Parking bans are not in effect at this time.

November 28, 2018

  • Today, residential snow clearing continues in Wednesday's areas, these are listed below.
  • Tomorrow, residential snow clearing continues in Westpointe, Pinnacle, O'Brien Lake, Mission Heights, and Stoneridge.
  • Road conditions are extremely icy. Ice control crews are out in full force sanding and salting the City's road network. Residents are reminded to use caution when travelling and drive according to road conditions.
  • Parking bans are not in effect at this time.

November 27, 2018

  • Today, residential snow clearing takes place in Southview, Patterson, Country Club, Country Club West, Countryside North and South, Summerside, and Signature Falls.
  • Tomorrow, crews will be continuing residential snow clearing in the following areas: 
    • Avondale
    • College Park
    • Swanavon
    • Highland Park
    • Smith (including Morgan Meadows)
    • Cobblestone
    • Creekside
    • Brookfield
    • Riverstone
  • With a freezing rain warning in effect, all available units are implementing ice control on roads, City sidewalks, and trails. 
  • Crews are also picking up snow piles from cul-de-sacs and clearing stored snow in locations that have historical flooding concerns. This activity clears room for future snowfall, however will be halted if there is more snowfall.
  • Parking bans are not in effect at this time. 

November 26, 2018

  • Crews are responding to the freezing rain by sanding and salting priority 1 and 2 routes. 
  • Residential snow clearing crews:
    • are in week two of a two-week rotation. 
    • are currently finishing the remainder of Monday's areas. 
    • continue tomorrow in the following neighbourhoods: Southview, Patterson, Country Club, Country Club West, Countryside North and South, Summerside, and Signature Falls.
  • Residential snow removal takes place in a two week rotation from Monday to Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sidewalks and trails are being cleaned and monitored for ice.
  • Parking bans are not in effect at this time.
